ROAR -Celebrating Women In Music

Presented by the City of Port Phillip for ROAR FEST
Through iconic portraits and performances captured by Australia’s best female music photographers the ROAR Exhibition celebrates women, non-binary and Gender Non-Conforming musicians both on and off the stage.

The exhibition features the works of renowned Australian music photographers, alongside reproductions from the Australian Performing Arts Collection and local herstory curated by music sub-culture researcher Melynda von Wayward.

Showcasing musicians at all career stages while highlighting pop-culture and sub genres of Australian music from the 1980's onwards, it is in these moments that we see the breath and power upon which the industry has been built.

Venue:   Carlisle St Art Space, 99a Carlisle St Kilda VIC 3182

Opened: Monday 10 February

Closes: Friday 16 May

First Public Viewing at the ROAR Photography Exhibition.

The photo was taken at the very end of our creative promotional photo session together.

Tameika visualised the image to be like an old painting, reminding her of the original ‘en plein air’ artists.

Celebrating 17 years of working together and the release of Fiona's album exactly 12 months later , it was also a great way to celebrate the weekend of to International Women's Day.
